House Church Guide
During this time of uncertainty we still want you to know that as your pastors and leadership we are still praying for you. If you have a need, request or situation that you would like us to pray about please click below to fill out the form for prayer.
As many of you know, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected our community. We want to be proactive and not reactive with our decision regarding Sunday gatherings. While the virus is really not dangerous to the vast majority of our church, it is very dangerous to some and we want to care for the vulnerable, which in this case, is the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.
The leadership at DBC has decided that we will not meet together this Sunday, March 22.
While we will not meet together in our building, we are not cancelling church.
We believe that the church is not a building, or an event, it is a people.
On March 22 we will meet in homes. This is rooted in the line from Acts 2, where the first followers of Jesus would gather in larger groups at the temple on sabbath, and then in smaller groups in homes around a table throughout the week.
We invite you to gather together with your Community Group, open your home to family and friends, and be the church. We ask that you meet only with 10 or less. We want to lead you well in this since it is new to all of us. We will have a dedicated page on our website that includes guides for you to follow, including a teaching available on video and audio. For those that would like pastoral care or prayer we will also have a section of the page that you can fill out that will be sent to our pastors so we can keep praying for you.
Be sure to follow along for updates throughout the week as the situation continues to develop. In the weeks ahead, we encourage you to seek being a non-anxious presence in a cultural moment of anxiety, and to love and care for those in our communities and neighborhoods.
Let us know if you have any questions or need any help.
